  Salma Hayek To Take On Wave After Wave Of Assassins In Non-Stop Action Picture, Everly

  When we talked about Joe Lynch's Everly before, I was correcting the publicly traded plot description.

  This bit was right:

  Everly centers on a down-on-her-luck woman, stuck in her apartment, who must fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss.

  This bit was wrong:

  Pic is set entirely in one room.

  And here's some of what I added: 

  The film isn't set all in one room at all. It's not even set entirely in a single apartment, as the odd little bit takes place in the immediate surroundings – though it might spoil too much to tell you exactly where. However, the camera never leaves this one apartment. It can look out into the corridor or wherever, but it always stays in the few basic rooms of the apartment where we first meet Everly, even while characters come and go.

  These characters, for the most part, come on a mission to kill only to get killed themselves. There's a phenomenal amount of action in the script for Everly and it's often pretty big stuff.

  Lynch, you may recall, is the director behind The Knights of Badassdom – or at least bastard-beset The Knights of Badassdom: The Director's Cut, which I'm hoping we'll someday get to see. He co-wrote Everly with Yale Hannon and the script made its way to the Black List.

  We also previously talked about Kate Hudson being cast in the main role but time marches on, things change, and Deadline are reporting that now the role, the part of Everly herself, has gone to Salma Hayek.

  The connection between the two, I guess, is that they're small enough to seem vulnerable in a close-quarters fight with professional killers – emphasis on the seem.

  It looks like Lynch is looking for actual locations for the film, though I do suspect much of it will be shot on a soundstage – it's that kind of SMASHINGSHITUP kind of picture. Lynch tweeted, a few weeks back:

  Everly has an incredibly dynamic concept, but it's a hard one to pull off. We'll need Lynch to get the rhythms right and to ratchet the tensions and pressure up and down as best suits. If he pulls this off, it's going to be intense and, ultimately, dramatic stuff.

  Could Salma Hayek’s five-year-old daughter Valentina be prepping for her own Hollywood career? It’s very possible, especially since she’s joining mama for a new “Got Milk?” campaign.

  Though she’s not clearly visible in the “Milk” poster, Valentina is seen holding out a breakfast bowl in the Hayek kitchen. She also participated a 90-second behind-the-scenes featurette.

  

  Of course, Salma will be the one taking center stage in the billboards. And throughout the clip, she spoke openly about the importance of leche in her household.

  “When you’re growing like my little daughter, it’s very important to have calcium,” Hayek said. “I think it’s crucial to have a breakfast that’s going to make you think clear and have energy throughout the day.”

  The luxury brand Gucci has created Chime For Change initiative in partnership with Beyonce and Salma Hayek to fight for women’s rights.

  Beyonce, Salma Hayek and Gucci creative director Frida Giannini launched the initiative Chime For Change, a global campaign in collaboration with the luxury brand Gucci. This initiative aims to raise funds and awareness of the condition of each woman throughout the world thanks to sharing stories of powerful women and inspiring for all.
  The campaign was officially announced during the luncheon TEDxWomen, February 28, by Salma Hayek who presented a short film detailing the project objectives. The video set to music by Beyonce is the first of a series of ten short films of powerful women who are role models for all the fairer sex.

  “This is the urgency and opportunity of our time. We have reached an important moment in the history of the status of girls and women and it is now time for change. I think that it is essential that young girls and women see and celebrate what is possible. Hopefully, with Chime for Change, we can help the voices calling for change to become so strong that they can not be ignored, “said the director of Gucci Creative and co founder of this large-scale operation, Frida Giannini.

  Salma Hayek also seems to be happy to be one of the founders of the movement. “I am proud to join the growing international movement on behalf of girls and women around the world. I am sure that by working together we can change the course of history to ensure that girls and Women have the ability to realize their potential and to flourish. ” says the actress.

  This pride is shared by singer Beyoncé. “I’ve always had at heart equal opportunities for women. Should learn early on girls they are strong and can become anything they want to be.   Salma Hayek‘s daughter gives her a souvenir every time she goes out.

  The 46-year-old actress hates being away from her five-year-old daughter Valentina but the youngster makes sure her mother has a memento of her when they are separated.

  She said: ‘When I go out my daughter Valentina gives me something to remember her. She calls it un recuerdo – a memory – and it changes all the time. She sneaks it into my bag so it’s a surprise.’

  Salma – who is married to Francois-Henri Pinault – also revealed she keeps aromatherapy oils in her bag at all times to help relax her.

  She told Fastmaza.com : ‘I keep aromatherapy oils for energy or relaxing, they can change your whole outlook.’

  The ‘Savages’ star recently admitted she finds parenting challenging.

  She said ‘When you become a mum and are responsible for someone else’s welfare, everything is about being the best mum and that’s a huge challenge on a daily basis.   In recognition of International Women’s Day, Avon Foundation for Women Ambassador Salma Hayek Pinault and Avon Products, Inc. CEO Sheri McCoy announced that four global organizations and one government campaign have received 2nd Avon Communications Awards: Speaking Out About Violence Against Women for their outstanding work to bring attention to the need to end violence against women.

  Hayek noted: “I just presented at the Academy Awards and I was not even half as nervous and scared as I am today, but also not half as excited as I am to be with you.”

  The awards, presented at the United Nations Headquarters during the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, are part of the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violenceprogram, which has donated nearly $50 million globally to end violence against women since its launch in 2004.

  The CSW, which this year focuses on the elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls, drew nearly 6,000 representatives from UN Member States, UN entities and NGOs from around the world for a two-week session.

Addressing the room full of activists, Salma said, "I just presented at the Academy Awards and I was not even half as nervous and scared as I am today, but also not half as excited as I am to be with you."

  The actress signed on with Avon's anti-domestic-violence campaign in 2004 and has continued to flex her power with the recent launch of Chime for Change with Beyoncé Knowles. Salma and Beyoncé teamed up with Gucci for the initiative, which supports projects by women around the world. Salma's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, who is the CEO of PPR, which owns Gucci, has rallied behind his wife to support her efforts.

Salma's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, is the CEO of French luxury company PPR, which owns Gucci, and as such, is the driving force behind the project, which aims to raise funds and awareness to support projects by women around the world. Beyoncé was not able to attend yesterday, but Salma nonetheless posed for photos with other guests, including Jada Pinkett Smith.

  Salma took the stage to speak about the project and introduce a short film that featured Beyoncé. In a press release announcing the endeavor, Beyoncé spoke about what Chime For Change means to her. She said, "I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be.   She wore a pink and olive rose print MCQ ALEXANDER MCQUEEN stretch jersey belted dress.Instead of wearing the belt that came with the dress, Salma opted for a natural colored band. I like Salma's dress and the berry bag that made it pop.
